Does the Bible actually teach that Jesus is God?

Happy Monday everyone! The goal of this FAQ question section for the next few weeks is to answer all of the most common questions on Christianity in an easy-to- read, concise way. If you have any questions that you have always wrestled with, send them by clicking here. Let’s jump right in! Religions throughout the world claim that there is no biblical backing behind the claim- Jesus is God; well, I’m here to teach you that evidence for the full deity of Jesus Christ is found all throughout the Bible!

Let’s start with the most obvious one:

“waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.” - Titus 2:13

In the verse above, Jesus is straight up called our great God and Savior.

And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God's angels worship him.” - Hebrews 1:6

In Hebrews, scripture tells us to worship him.

All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. - John 1:3

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. - Colossians 1:16

John 1:3 and Colossians 1:16 suggest that Jesus Christ does things only God can do- like create the universe.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” - Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is unchanging, everlasting, and eternal.

“And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.” - Acts 10:42

Jesus Christ is our judge!

There are so many other verses we can use to discuss the deity of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, but I think the verses above give us all an excellent starting point. If you would like further biblical proof, feel free to reach out to me personally or any of our leadership team at New Walk Church. Additionally, If you have not received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, today, I hope this motivates you to start your week calling upon the name of God who loves you more than you can ever imagine. As always, I love you guys more than you will ever know!

Stay motivated, Yours in Christ,
